In accordance with Circular 210 – New requirements of the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission (the “CNMV”) regarding the provision of warnings on complex financial instruments to retail clients resided in Spain, CySEC informs Cypriot Investment Firms to adjust their business models to include new specifications when soliciting clients within the territory of Spain. In summary, clients must provide the firm with confirmation of acknowledgement receipt of warnings for the risk involved when dealing with complex financial instruments like CFDs. The acknowledgment can be a handwritten or typewritten statement or recorded oral confirmation.
